Born in Austin, Texas October 31, 1937.
Preceded in death by his son, Martin Dean Jackson and his parents, Wilma Pauline McMahan and Talbert Alivin Jackson.
Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Franklin Jackson; sons, Michael David Jackson, Mark Dwayne Jackson, Patrick Floyd Fallwell (Terri), and granddaughter Christie Michele Adams. Later in life, we were blessed in acquiring two daughters, Shree Partridge, Anne Guerra, and their children, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charles graduated from McCallum High School in 1955 and attended Southwest Texas State University receiving his Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters degree in Education. After obtaining his Masters degree Charles continued to work in education until he retired in 2004, as an Associate Administrator with the Austin Independent School District.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Texas National Guard. In 1961 he was called to active duty. Upon completing his active duty he returned to proudly serve his country in the Army National Guard for a total of 35 years.
Charles loved sailing Lake Travis for 30 years with the Catalina Sailing Fleet 69. After retirement there was time for traveling and travel he did with Pat at his side crossing the pond to Europe over 12 twelve times his last trip just weeks prior to his passing. He was also very fortunate in locating a lease in Llano giving him the opportunity to be outdoors as Charles was always very busy and loved the outdoors.
Charles was also a member at the Hill City Lodge 456 as a Endowed Master Mason. He also served as Worthy Patron at Austin Chapter 304, Order of the Eastern Star.
Charles was a loving husband, father, neighbor, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed however forever remembered with fondness, admiration, and love.
A visitation for Lt. Col. Jackson will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home 6100 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin Texas 78752, Friday July 21st from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
A funeral service will also be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 22, 2023.
A committal service will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery & Mausoleum 14501 N. Interstate Hwy, Austin Texas 78753 at 11:30 a.m., with a reception following the graveside service at Round Rock Christian Church, 22 Chalice Way, Round Rock, Texas 78665.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
