

Charley worked for the City of Austin for 23 years before retiring in 1990. He had a passion for gamecocks, Western movies and wrestling. He was a carpenter, plumber, fence builder, mechanic, and a jack-of-all-trades.
Charley is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Jean McDonald; children JoAnn Darbandi, Elsie Burklund and husband Donald, Linda Crider and husband Billy, Charley White Jr and wife Lisa, and Elizabeth Hibbs; and grandchildren Ray Crider, Eddie Crider, Kristina Newman, Joyce White, Shane Darbandi, Charley White III, Jonathan Burklund, Pratt Darbandi, Jenifer Dykes, Jimmy Dykes, Ashley Bradberry and Travis Burklund. He had 12 great-grandchildren. Charley is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ricky, his sister Ruby Joyce, daughter Janice Lynell, and grandson Bobby Ray.
The family will receive friends at a Visitation on Friday, October 2, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, located at 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., near Oak Hill.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers will be Ray and Eddie Crider, Charley White III, Jon and Travis Burklund, and Pratt Darbandi.
