Christine Grace Warmbrodt was born January 13, 1952, and passed away the morning of January 13, 2016, her 64th birthday. She was raised in the La Crescenta / La Canada area of southern California, and moved to the St. Louis, Missouri area as a teen. She earned her AS Nursing degree from St. Louis Community College in 1972, and practiced as an RN in Columbia, Missouri, Midland, Texas and Houston, Texas. She also earned an AAS degree in Paralegal Studies at the Center for Advanced Legal Studies of Houston in 1997, and worked as a Certified Legal Assistant and Legal Nurse Consultant in Houston and Midland.
After Chris had lived 57 vigorous years as an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, serious illness dramatically changed her active life. She fought a long, courageous battle with Psoriatic Arthritis (PSA) and Avascular Necrosis (AVN), which led to other medical conditions and multiple joint replacement surgeries. Chris was close to death in 2009, when complications of anesthesia led to several months of intensive care for respiratory failure and ARDS. She worked hard to regain her mobility, and her efforts were a tremendous inspiration for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. After returning her from the brink of death, God gave Chris seven loving years with her family and friends, and a chance to work through a modest "bucket list." After years of effort, therapy and pain, Chris returned to her beloved California beach in June, 2015, where she got up from her wheelchair and walked across the sand to the water's edge. Her valiant quest in disability serves as another lasting inspiration, a testament to her faith in God.
Family was all-important to Chris, and her triumphant life of achievement, love, nurturing and giving provides a beacon for her dear family. Chris was preceded in death by her parents Loyd and Veronica (Stadnick) Clark, son Joe (Jennifer) Warmbrodt, brother Steve Clark, sister Lisa (Donnie) Stanyer, and parents-in-law John and Kathryn (Copeland) Warmbrodt. She is survived by Bob Warmbrodt, her husband of 44 years, son Tom Warmbrodt, daughter-in-law Julie (Krippel) Warmbrodt, granddaughters Indi, Kate and Olivia Warmbrodt, sister Veronica Speer, brothers John (Irma) Clark and J. Bruce (Natalie) Clark, brothers-in-law Donnie (Lisa) Stanyer and John (Chris) Warmbrodt, sister-in-law Kathy (Bill) Topping, nephews John (Beth) Warmbrodt, Billy Topping, Bryan Speer, Andrew and Nicholas Clark, nieces Gina (Greg) Stanyer, Julie Stanyer, Chelsea (Jason) Adrian, Natalie Clark, Mandy Topping and Jeannie Warmbrodt, and cousin Charlie Kennedy.
