
C.B. (Claude) Lilly, age 84, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Hays County, near Dripping Springs, on December 21, 2006. He is survived by his son, Byron Lilly and wife Kletia of Dripping Springs, along with their sons, Dawson and Logan. He is also survived by his daughter, Martha Stauderman and husband Ken of San Diego, along with their son, Lukas and daughter, Ellie. C.B. was born in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Brackenridge High School, and subsequently earned a bachelors degree and Doctorate of Jurisprudence from St. Marys University. He volunteered fro service in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, where he earned the Silver Star for bravery at the battle of Salerno and a special commendation during the invasion of Normandy. In 1945, he married Doris Anderson, and they shared 57 years of life together. After graduating from college, C.B. was a Special Agent in the F.B.I. During his later tenure as Vice President of Industrial Relations for Tenneco, Inc. he graduated from The Harvard Business School. He later owned a land title company in Waller Country, Texas. After retiring, he served as a federal arbitrator for a number of years, and was later appointed as county-court-at-law judge in Hays County. C.B. will be remembered by his family and friends as a tireless patriot, a loving husband and father, a lover of reading and music, and a man of endless generosity. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home Chapel, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, (512) 442-1446.
