Clinton Marcel Billingsley, affectionately known as Clint, was 68 years old and the youngest of two children, born on August 20, 1956, in Austin, Texas to Madeline Hawkins Billingsley Wilkins and Deacon Willie Wilkins. Clinton entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Madeline Wilkins; his precious wife, Jean Billingsley; and a nephew who made him an uncle, Robert Billingsley II (Bobby).
On August 24, 2006, Clinton was united in holy matrimony to Lula “Jean” Drake. They were married for 17 years until she entered eternal rest in September 2023. They shared a love of God, family, and music.
Clinton's upbringing inspired him to become a homeowner. On the first day in their new home, Clinton and Jean held a heartfelt prayer service, dedicating their home to God. Their home was peaceful and a devoted cherished residence.
At a young age, Clinton professed his faith in Christ and declared Him as his Lord and Savior. He joined and was baptized at the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend F.C. Ransom. As a youth, he was very active in Sunday School. His family, Christian community, and friends would be his lifelong support. Clinton attended John B. Winn Elementary, Kealing Junior High, and Reagan High Schools. Clinton played the Cornet in the band at Kealing Junior High. He was employed at Seton-Brackenridge and the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport for many years. Clinton helped his family by being a loving caretaker for his father and wife. He volunteered at a food pantry with his brother. Clinton had a legacy of love and service to care for others, to make you laugh, and always to be there.
Clinton leaves the following memories to cherish; his loving father, Deacon Willie Wilkins; devoted brother, Robert (Caren Bridgette) Billingsley; beloved uncle, Prince Hawkins, Jr.; beloved niece and nephew, Reagan (Michael) Harrell and Reginald Billingsley; two beloved great-nieces, Quyara Billingsley and Raine Harrell; two beloved great-nephews, Michael II and Ryan Harrell; three beloved stepchildren, Keshia Rene Sauls-Smith, Kenneth Myron Sauls, and Kennie (Teresa) Sauls; two beloved sisters-in-law, Ann Drake-Williams and Lois (Kenneth) Bonds; and beloved brother-in-law, Willie J.
