Consuelo "Connie" Puentes Angon

Consuelo was better known as "Connie" to everyone that knew her. Connie and Julian, her husband, were devout Catholics who attended mass daily at their parish San Jose Catholic Church in Laredo, Texas.

She was the Matriarch of the Angon Family. She was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. At her young age, she met Julian and they married later relocating to Los Angeles, CA. Raising her family was her main priority when a great opportunity came to place ... moving to Laredo, TX, to start import business "EI Conquistador" in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps., Mexico. For more than 50 years, they had a flourishing business. Both Connie and Julian were great business people who established their daily routine of attending daily Mass before tending to their business affairs. Connie loved to be at her stores, always with a friendly disposition and making friends with her customers. Over the years she acquired many friends from all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico and other parts of the world. Connie loved music, loved traveling and visiting her grandchildren and great- grandchildren in Canada, Pittsburgh, Seattle that in 2017 after a long successful business journey they finally decided to retire in Austin, Texas to be closer to the family. She will be missed by many that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Julian Angon, daughter Rosalba Angon Figueroa, Son-in-law Steve Figueroa, granddaughter Roxanne Y. Angon-Arneson, daughter in law, Lynne Lightsey Angon (Dave Arneson).

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Alfredo (Rosa) Angon, Xavier (Lynne) Angon; granddaughter, Christina Marie Figueroa; grandsons, Eric J. Angon (Jane), Julian Alfredo (Jamie) Angon, Raul Javier Angon; great-grandchildren, Emma Joy Consuela Angon, Anna Rae Tamar Angon, Julian James Angon, Jonathan Jason Angon, Raul Javier Angon, Jr.; brother: David Puentes and family, and numerous nephews and nieces.

A visitation for Consuelo will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752.

A memorial service will occur Friday, March 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752.

A reception will occur Friday, March 18, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752.

A graveside service will occur Friday, March 18, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749.
