Courtney Nicole Hoemeke passed away on July 2, 2022. The best way to describe Courtney is as a free spirit. She loved wholly and was the most caring and giving person anyone ever met. Courtney was born in Austin, Texas on June 11, 1998. From the moment she was born we knew that she would be one to let us know what she wanted and that she wanted to do it her way. After graduating from Dripping Springs High School in 2016, she attended Texas State University for a time before she decided to devote all her energies to her career at HEB. She started working for HEB as a cashier while in High School. She quickly started climbing the ladder and was a Manager in Charge at the Bastrop store. She loved her work and loved her partners. Helping people was especially important to her and peer support and mentoring were her passions.
Courtney also had a very active social life with her friends. She loved spending time with them. And she adored her “children,” Milo the Siamese cat and Charley the Siberian Husky.
Courtney is survived by her parents, Thomas B. Hoemeke (Tiffany) of Glen Rose, TX and RaeLynn Tatsch (Nathan) of Chillicothe, TX, brother Cody Hoemeke of Chillicothe, TX, Grandparents Thomas & Diane Hoemeke of Denton, TX, and DonEtta Beaty of Corpus Christi, TX, Aunt Nancy Thompson (Henry) of Castaic CA, Uncle Mike Beaty (April) of Austin, Aunt Kathy VonHatten (John Vahlenkamp) of Longmont, CO, and Aunt Peggy Hoemeke (Chaz Moxley) of Albuquerque, NM. Step siblings, Kendra Patch (Alonzo), of Brenham Tx, Matt Tatsch (Lisa) of Dripping Springs Texas, Travis Tatsch of Dripping Springs Texas, and a nephew, Tyler Tatsch, cousins Wesley, Wade, Walker, Simon, and Annalise. She also had extended family throughout the world. She was loved by everyone and will be sorely missed by all.
There will be a visitation Friday, July 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home, 1801 Houston St., Vernon, TX. The funeral service on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:00 am, in Chillicothe, TX at First Baptist Church, with burial at the Chillicothe Cemetery. There will also be a Celebration of Life in her honor on July 23, 2022, at 10:00 am at Hog Heaven, 491 Hog Hollow Rd, Dripping Springs, TX 78620. Everyone is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a fund being set up in Courtney’s name at HEB to assist HEB partners in need. Details will be made available as soon as possible.
