Cristela Salas

Cristela Salas peacefully joined our Lord on March 1, 2014 at the age of 86. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Salas Sr.; daughter, Paula Banda; parents, Fernando and Paulita Sanchez; sisters, Carmen Sanchez, Criselda S. Maldonado.

Cristela is survived by sons, Lawrence Salas Jr. wife Viola, Jose Sergio Salas wife Norma; daughter, Lydia Rincon husband Mario; son-in-law, Martin Banda; brothers, and sisters, Froilan Sanchez, Connie Martinez, Joe Sanchez, Mary Hernandez, Yolanda Weber, Fernando Sanchez and Susie Sanchez; and most precious to her 14 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Cristela was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. For the past several years, she sponsored a booth, named Grandma's Bling, with bracelets, pillows and window ornaments that she made for the annual San Jose Church Jamaica.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress in Austin with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Tom Frank as celebrant. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Lawrence Salas III, Mark Salas, Martin Banda Jr., Mario Rincon Jr., Jose Sergio Salas Jr. and Steven Salas.
