Danny Leo Sides, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2021. He was born in Ballinger and grew up in San Angelo, Texas and proudly served in the National Guard for 6 years. Danny married and moved to Austin to become an Austin Firefighter, serving for almost 30 years, while simultaneously running his own successful plumbing business, Sides Plumbing, for 4 decades. Danny was an honest, hardworking and humble, Christian man; he was so well liked that he was able to maintain his business by word of mouth only.
Danny was a kind, generous, gentle, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He valued his family and felt it was the most important accomplishment of his life. Apart from his immediate friends and family, he was a blessing to all those he met.
Danny was diagnosed with cancer 4.5 years ago and was given extra time by a stem cell transplant, generously donated by his brother, Jimmy Sides. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene Sides, his eldest daughter, Angela Rene Sides, daughter-in-law, Debora Smail, grandchildren: Elizabeth, Donny, Christina and Timothy, his youngest daughter, Nicole Sides Jutras, daughter- in-law, Sheryl Jutras, grandsons Cameron & Zachary, his brother, Jimmy Sides and wife, Vicky Sides, nephew, Dusty and niece, Summer.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Danny’s life in the near future.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldenforestoaks.com for the Sides family.
