

Dave served 8 years in the USAF; 2 years as a Weather Observer in Japan and 6 years as a Weather Forecaster at Bergstrom AFB, TX. In 1961 he joined the U.S. Weather Bureau and served in Midland, TX and Oklahoma City, OK for the next 10 years. In 1971 Dave was promoted to Meteorologist-in-Charge of the National Weather Service Office in Austin, TX. He served 17 years in that position until his retirement in 1988. During his retirement years Dave enjoyed traveling and Country and Western Dancing.
Dave is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary; daughters Lisa Devore of Austin, and Sherry Mordosky and her husband Jonathan of Whitehall, PA; Granddaughters Carrie Elizabeth Dailey of Cedar Creek, TX and Theresa Devore of Austin; Great-grandchildren Xe'Nedra, Gwynneth and Kenneth Willard of Cedar Creek; a brother, James Baron and his wife Jackie, and a niece Katy Baron, all of River Forest, IL.
Visitation hours are 5:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar. A rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. All friends are welcome.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, at Assumption Cemetery on South IH 35.
