Jane lived her life in complete dedication to the Lord. She accepted Jesus as her savior at the young age of 11. In her 20’s, she spent time as a missionary spreading the love of Jesus to the native people of Andros, a remote island in the Bahamas. Jane graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gulf Coast Bible College in Houston, Texas in 1973. She went on to be a teacher at several Christian schools across the country for more than 20 years. She was one of the founding teachers at Tower Christian Academy in Houston. After that, she went on to teach at schools in Louisiana, Washington and Florida, blessing many students along the way. In her later years, Jane worked with her son and daughter-in-law at WJCR, their family’s Christian radio station and food bank ministry in Kentucky. She was able to touch many lives there, even in her last years on earth. Jane was also an accomplished pianist and organist. She was an instant and lifelong friend to anyone who crossed her path— whether a neighbor, coworker or someone she met who was in need.
Jane prayed for her family without ceasing. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are blessed to have learned from her godly example.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents: Samuel and Elizabeth, and her siblings: Robert, Gene, Don, Leonard (Buzz) and Arlene. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna, who died at just seven-years-old. Jane passed away on Donna’s birthday, and her family takes comfort in knowing they immediately got to celebrate Donna’s birthday together in heaven.
Jane is survived by her children: Kathy and her husband, Gary, and Don and his wife, Lauree; grandchildren: Chris and his wife, Hannah, Cory, Jacqulyn and her husband, Edward, and Samuel; and her great-grandchildren: Kadin, Koen, Ayla, Evangeline, Paloma and Cash; and her siblings: Carl, Lorraine and Linda. Please keep her family in your prayers.
