Delvie L. Reaves Morgan

Delvie was born in Cedar Park, Texas on October 5, 1924 to George Thomas Reaves, Sr. and Lillie Mae Pruitt. She married Jesse James Morgan Jr. on March 17, 1945. They were together for over 60 years until his death in 2005.

Delvie was a great cook, baker, and seamstress. She loved her family and cherished being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the VFW Post 8787 Women’s Auxiliary for many years.

Delvie is survived by a son, Dennis Morgan and wife, Patricia; 2 granddaughters, Christie Lehmberg and husband, Lex and Rhonda Bridges and husband, Stanton; 2 great-grandsons, Kirby O’Connell and Matthew Bridges; her sister, Christine Clawson; her brothers, Leslie Reaves and Welton Reaves. Delvie was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Morgan Jr.; her sisters, Annie Caddell, Lucy Soechting, Georgia Whisenant and Laverne Bowen; and a brother, George Thomas Reaves (aka-Junior).

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 11 at the Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p .m. on Saturday, April 12 at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to The Christopher House of Austin.
