Dennis C. Galer, Retired U.S. Navy, CW04, age 62, of Austin, passed away November 10, 2008. Dennis was born at Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Poplar, Montana, where he spent most of his childhood. He joined the Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War, part of which was spent on the USS Enterprise. He retired from the U.S. Navy after proudly serving for 26 years. Dennis was currently employed by the IRS. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Shore) Galer; sons, Dennis Galer, Jr. and wife Adrienne, Mike Galer and wife Angie; daughter, Tania Galer; grandchildren, Levi Galer and wife Danielle, Felicia Galer, Jesse, Chelsea, Kristen and Dustin Kanae, Zac and Lily Galer; and one great-granddaughter, Illyana Rodriquez. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16th at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2008 in the Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with full military honors.
