I’m so very sorry for your loss.

My husband and I knew  Dicke from going to “It’s a Jungle”. He was so knowledgeable of everything I had asked him from orchids to roses.  He introduced us to “milorganite” and Lady Banks, the yellow version.  Those granules will save any potted plants or plants in general. The only plant that didn’t respond was “buddleia”. Milorganite is sold at Lowe’s if anyone would like to try their hand at it.

In any case, Dicke was a reservoir of information about plants. I was so disappointed when “It’s a Jungle” closed down because there were so many beautiful plants that Dicke grew in those giant clay plots. Would like to know where those beautiful potted plants of roses went when the nursery closed. Wished it never closed down. It was a unique  “Austin”  fixture. I’m very nostalgic about the place. Referred everyone I knew to the nursery back then.

It was a privileged to have met Dicke in our life.

Dicke brightened our lives in Austin when we went to visit our father at Park Bend.  He was always caring for the beautiful plants in the gazebo, and we had good conversations over a meal or two. Thank you, Dicke for your love of nature and for taking care of this fragile world of ours!

We knew Dicke at a Round Rock plant nursery.  He always provided wonderful service, a wealth of plant info & how-to, and kindness.  He made our world a better place and inspired us to keep on gardening.  Thank you, Dicke.  RIP.

What pleasant memories of our visits together with Dicke. While I served as Bishop of the Walnut Creek ward, we'd get together to chat now and again.  He was a man of impressive dignity and exceptional talents, especially in his appreciation of living things. I'll miss our chats.

So sorry to hear of Dicke's passing. I always loved coming in to visit his nursery and pick out plants with my dad as a young kid. Prayers for comfort and peace go out to his family.

 Thank you Dicke for being a light for others. Your sweet and patient nature will always have a warm place in our hearts. 
Dicke was gifted with his great knowledge of plants but he also grew many hearts with his kind and easy spirit. Dicke was a blessing and we our proud to have known him.

Dicke was a great friend growing up in Munday. I was fortunate to be one of his good friends. He was a good man and will be missed.

Dicke and I were good friends as kids growing up in Munday and I have good memories of those days.
