Dolores Maria Oglesby

Dolores loved children and started her own daycare at home in the early 1970's. The children loved her cooking so much they complained when they had to eat meals at their own homes! She later worked as a child care assistant at several daycares, and as a housekeeper & caretaker for several Austin families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. D. Oglesby, her son, Marco Oglesby, her parents, and one brother. She is survived by one sister, Virginia Herrera, (Ricardo, deceased), three children, Charlie Oglesby (Norma), Gerardo Oglesby (Pat), & Maria Pender (Del, deceased). Grandchildren are Lonnie (Brandy) & Marco Oglesby & Coryell Briseno (Leonard), Amanda Oglesby & Elizabeth Oglesby-Costa (Cristiano), and Kristin Walker (Cody) & John Pender. Great-grandchildren are Taea & Bella Oglesby, Alyssa Sanchez, Christopher & Brooke Briseno.

Dolores loved to cook family recipes from Mexico & go out to eat for Chinese buffet. She was an avid sports fan & cheered on her family at football & baseball games, dance recitals, & graduations. Dolores loved spending time with her family. She never met a stranger she didn't like...and who didn't like her!

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel on North Lamar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
