Donna Gail Hart

Donna was born on October 19, 1955 in Morganfield, Kentucky. She attended Morganfield schools, until she moved with her family to Bosworth, Missouri in 1969. She graduated from Carrollton High School and went on to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri and graduated in 1977 with a degree in Journalism.

Donna loved all kinds of athletics, especially writing about them. Her first job after graduating college was a sport editor. From there she became associated with Iowa State University in sports for three years. She then moved back to her Alma Mater, University of Missouri and was associate director of sports information where she was passionate about her writing. Donna was then recruited from The University of Texas to work in their sport information office and that's when she moved to Austin, Texas.

In 1993, Donna went to work for the Texas Department of Agriculture and continued to work until illness caused her to retire in July of 2015.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, Calvin Hard and her infant brother Michael.

She is survived by her mother; Frances Hart of Sulphur, Louisiana, brother; Glen Hart and wife Suzy of Hallsville, Texas, two sisters; Marilyn Laughlin of St. Petersburg, Florida and Julie Hart of Cleburne, Texas, nephew; Jackson Hart and wife Sondra of Houston, Texas, nieces; Tiffany Moniz and husband Dusty of Longview, Texas , Diane Jones and husband Jeff of Longview, Texas, great-niece; Avery Moniz, great-nephew; Benny Jones and great-nieces; Lexus, Porche and Audi Harrington of Houston.

A Memorial Service will be held, Monday, December 14, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks.
