

Doris Attal Potts a lifelong Austinite of Lebanese descent, a devoted wife and loving mother passed peacefully on July 14, 2022, at the age of 84. Doris was born on December 30, 1937 in Austin, Texas, and was the youngest of five children to Tom Attal and Frances Kouri Attal. Doris graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1957.
Doris married Bill Potts in 1971 and they had 51 cherished years together. Bill has been her best friend and loyal companion, always being there for her. Doris was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, always willing to help others. Her family and extended family were some of the earliest entrepreneurs in Austin. Her father was instrumental in the building of St. Elias Orthodox Church. She was interested in business at an early age and enjoyed spending time at her father’s office on Sixth Street. There she learned the family business and used those skills to manage properties for many years while also raising her children. In later years Doris became a devout member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.
Doris lived every day for her family and was happiest when spending time together. She always greeted you with a warm smile and offered the best compliments letting you know you were special. She was a perfectionist, very detail oriented and always gave great advice. She was a kind soul always finding the best in everyone. She loved to sing and dance, especially to Elvis.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her son David C. Potts and her four siblings: Tom Attal Jr, Bernice Joseph, Emma Nicholas and Mary Risica. Doris is survived by her husband Bill Potts and her children and their spouses, John M. Pollett (Brenda), Diane Pollett Alencar (Salim Shaya), three grandchildren Emily Reeves, John Aaron Pollett, Robert Tom Alencar and numerous nieces and nephews. Mother, you will always be in our hearts.
Pallbearers will be John Aaron Pollett, Robert Tom Alencar, Salim Shaya, Anthony Rizzo, Anthony McKnight, Peter Aills.
Viewing will be from 12:00-1:00 pm Friday. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Weed-Corley-Fish funeral home located at 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, Texas 78731 with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery located at 3650 S IH 35 Frontage Road, Austin, Texas 78704.
