

Doris was a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church where she served on the funeral committee, was an usher, a member of the ladies Club, worker in the Gift Counter and was chairperson of the Krafty Ladies for many years. She and her late husband Paul owned and operated Doris’ Ceramic Shop in Oak Hill, Texas.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lt. Col. Paul L. Thornhill, USAF; four brothers, and three sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Beth Sides of Wyoming; brother, Jim Wasserburger and wife, Cindy of New Mexico; daughter, Paulette Book and husband, Jerry of Pennsylvania; daughter, Debi Goode and husband, Tommy of Bastrop; grandchildren, Jasen Book, Shelly Sales and Pat Goode; four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home; with recitation of the holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to West Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 3200 West Slaughter Lane, Austin, Texas for the loving care given to Doris, or to Hospice of your choice.
