Dory will be greatly missed by so many people!  She was such an amazing person, and I have many wonderful memories of taking classes with her throughout the years!  I am so grateful for her generosity in sharing her expertise and talent.  Prayers and virtual hugs for everyone who were blessed to have known and loved Dory!  

I first met Dory when we worked together in the PICU at CHOA in 2001 and she always made the day lighter. I knew I could count on her experience and willingness to help. Dory was a great teacher and her spirit will not be forgotten. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Dory was an amazing nurse and wonderful person overall.  I had the honor of getting to know and work with her during my tenure as the system Chief Nursing Officer.  Her knowledge, passion and expertise were invaluable.  It was easy to see how well loved and respected she was by all the patients, families and team members she worked with.   I am grateful that I had the opportunity to know and work with Dory.  I am so sorry for your loss.

I met Dory through Cocker Spaniel Rescue in 2016. We were both volunteers and the first Meet & Greet that I attended was enhanced by her company. I had only lived in Austin a few months and I knew no one at the M&G. She was the person that I sat next to each time we both attended. I will always remember her calm, comforting presence and appreciate the camaraderie. 
Rest In Peace Dory and thank you for the warm welcome. 

Like for many, Dory was my teacher. She taught me lifesaving skills, the same lifesaving skills I have used to rescue children from decompensation. She made learning these skills fun, even though its about a serious matter. She was always a generous teacher with her time and effort. Best wishes and condolences to her family. She was truly an extraordinary person. 

I met Dory when I first came to Austin to work at CHOA in the PICU as a travelling nurse.  She was one of the cornerstones of the PICU as it grew over the years.  She played important roles in the development of the PICU transport team, the Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification program, and many other quality initiatives over the many years she dedicated to Brackenridge/CHOA/Seton/Ascension/DCMC.  Dory was fiercely loyal to her co-workers, patients, and families.  She will be missed by us all.  My thoughts and prayers are with Pat and with Dory's family and friends.   


I had the privilege to know Dory for 15 years, working together on multiple projects through Dell Children's over the years. She was always on the go and full of energy, with a ready smile and a twinkle in her eye. Dory was such a vibrant person who brought wonderful energy into any room she entered and she was an absolute joy to be around. She enjoyed her work and more importantly she truly enjoyed her life. Dory will be missed greatly by all of us and I have no doubt that the positive impact she had on so many others throughout her life, encouraging us to be our best selves, will be her living legacy. 

I worked with Dory from Feb 2015 until Oct 2020 at Dell Children's  Medical Center of Central Texas. She was a valuable member of the Patient Safety/Quality Division - she was the coordinator to look at all codes at DCMC, and she expanded this work to all Seton hospitals. She was interviewed at the National Patient Safety Foundation in 2015, and she spoke about this work, as well as TQM as a whole. She was also the first to receive the honor for a pediatric hero-recognition program that the Dell Seton Department of Pediatrics awards. At work, she was laser focused on work. But when she was not at work, she spent her time doing other things that were really important to her. She was the poster child for having a good work life balance. She fostered dogs, and she was an expert at this (she also helped others with dog issues). She traveled with her partner Pat, and she went to some really interesting places. Places I would like to go some day. She allocated time doing things important to her - something not many of us do, even though time is our most precious resource. I will miss Dory.

My sincerest condolences and sympathies go out to you. I had no idea Dory was ill. 

I recall all of us cousins having so much fun at Grammies house over the years, Dory included. I sure miss those days
