Dorothy Theresa Douglas Prochoroff April 3, 1920 - June 26, 2006 Dorothy Prochoroff, Air Force wife and wonderful mother, died in her sleep in the early morning hours on Monday, June 26, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she met her husband George at a church social, married him, and shared life with him throughout his Air Force career, raising their three children in Japan, Hawaii, Virginia, and San Antonio, before she moved to Austin in 2004 to be cared for by her son. She loved her family and friends, her cats and cross-stitching, the theater and mountain freshness of Schroon Lake, and smiled remembering her life in Hawaii. She is survived by two sons, Michael Prochoroff of Austin and Alan Prochoroff of Alexandria, Virginia; the loves of their lives, Kerry Anguiano of Austin, and Ann Prochoroff of Alexandria; her niece and dear friend from childhood, Lori Robinson, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; son-in-law Andy House of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren Laurie and Jennifer and her five great-grandchildren in Virginia. Her beloved husband George preceded her to the other side in 1995, and she lost her only cherished daughter, Susan, to cancer in 2003. Dorothy will be draped in leis and laid to rest next to George. In lieu of flowers, please volunteer for your favorite charitable organization, and hug those you love a little tighter tonight. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com
