

Dr. Frasher was born October 11, 1922, in Beaumont, Texas, to John Chester Frasher, Sr., and Heloise Downing Frasher. The oldest of four sons, he graduated from St. Anthony’s Catholic High School, class of 1939. He attended Lamar University where he received a Bachelor of Science in 1946. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a pilot during World War II. Upon completion of his military service he returned home to study at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in June, 1950 .
Dr. Frasher was a long time member of St. Austin Catholic Church, where he served with the St. Vincent DePaul Group. He also volunteered as a dentist at Manos de Cristo for many years. Dr. Frasher was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He was a passionate Republican, he loved golf, baseball, the beach at Bolivar Peninsula and good conversation.
He is survived by his children, Susann Collins and husband, Gary, of Abilene, Patty Frasher and partner, Lisa Grant, of Dripping Springs, Cathy Hegemann of Beaumont, Mary Frasher and husband, Lance Letscher, of Austin, Maggy Carmony of Corpus Christi, Heloise Murdock and husband, Michael, of Knoxville, Tennessee, Martha Proctor of Beaumont, John C. Frasher, III and partner, Sylvia Cervantez, of Richmond, Teresa Salyer and husband, Monty, of Beaumont, step-children, Debbie Wyse and John Purser of Austin, 25 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his brothers, Mark J. Frasher of Kerrville and William J. Frasher of LaPorte . He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Nancy Warren Frasher, his parents, John Chester Frasher, Sr., and Heloise Downing Frasher, and his brother, Julian Thomas Frasher.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Friday, the 9th of November 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 10th of November, at St. Austin Catholic Church, 2026 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas with The Reverend Fr. Charles Kullmann, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
