

Earl Lawrence Kanetzky, 91, of Cedar Creek, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Earl was born April 24, 1930 in Austin, Texas. He grew up in Austin and attended Metz Elementary, Allen Jr High and Austin High School, graduating in 1948. He served our country as a Marine during the Korean War. His career in the electrical contracting business began in 1962 and he served as President of Elk Electric, Inc. until his retirement in 1996. He was a proud member of NECA for 50 years and IBEW for 70 years. He enjoyed many hunting trips and his time at the ranch.
Survivors are his wife, Lois; and three children, Steve Kanetzky, Donna Slack of Temple and Mike Kanetzky; his sister Lavern Stanford, and sister-in-law Tina Kanetzky, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Earl will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749 with Lonnie Smith officiating. Reception following graveside service at Steve & Teri’s, 12902 South Madrone Trail, Austin, Texas 78737.
