

Edgar Lee Wright was welcomed into the Lord’s arms on July 6, 2022, at the age of 94. He was born to Walter & Prudie Webb Wright in Lytton Springs, Texas on June 26, 1928. Edgar was baptized and confirmed on May 28, 1950, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas, where he was a member until 1956 when Edgar joined Redeemer Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas.
Edgar was raised and attended school in Austin, Texas. He began his employment career at the early age of 16, always in the automotive industry. His 50 years of service was spent at Pontiac (33 years) and B&B Body & Frame (17 years). Ed loved the outdoors, where hunting and bass fishing were his favorite! Being a devoted family man, summer vacations with the pop-up camper were anxiously anticipated! Ed had a great sense of humor and was loved by all those he interacted with.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Walter Wright Jr., and Geneva (Necie) Milam.
Edgar is survived by his beautiful wife of 72 years, Ruth (Krause) Wright; daughter Marilyn (Tom) Hilgendorf; son Donald Wright; daughter Kristi Wells (Barrett Poehl & Tyler); grandchildren Jameson (Jennifer DeLong & Jack) Wells, Elyssa (Mikie) Bryant, David Hilgendorf, Sarah Hilgendorf; great-grandchild Kali Bryant, and numerous family members and friends.
Visitation, Funeral, and Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Visitation from 10:00-11:00am and Funeral at 11:00am, both at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 W. Anderson Ln. Austin, Texas 78757. Graveside service to follow at Lytton Springs Cemetery, 245 Memorial Dr. Dale, Texas 78616.
