Elizabeth Brocklehurst

The youngest of 10, she was born July 12, 1966, in Dayton, OH to Robert and Marilyn Kushner. They moved to Rochester, NY in 1971 where Liz attended Roth H.S. She met Bill Brocklehurst in 1986 while attending RIT, where they fell deeply in love. Liz completed her RN degree at Mary Hardin Baylor in 1990 and married Bill later that year. Liz’s greatest passion was the care and nurturing of their beloved children Sean and Samantha. The children brought her endless pride and joy. Liz devoted much of her time and energy to volunteering at band, scout, and dance activities. Liz’s career included nursing at oncology, maternity, and day surgery centers. Her skill, compassion and gentle demeanor brought many comfort and healing.

Liz was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. She continually showed grace, courage & kindness. Throughout Liz’s battle with cancer she never gave up; always fighting for another day, another dance, another chance to be Mom, friend, sister, daughter, and wife. Liz is survived by her loving husband Bill, children Sean (17) and Samantha (14), mother Marilyn Bircher, and her 9 siblings.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 7, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass Services will be at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 5455 Bee Caves Road.
