

Elizabeth Anne Wooldridge, 87, passed away peacefully, July 20, 2009, in Austin, TX. Anne was born in Kansas City, KS, to Obadiah and Elizabeth West in 1921. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold R. Wooldridge; her daughter, Liz and her husband John Crews of Santa Fe, NM; her daughter, Cindy and her husband John Davenport, of Lakeway; her grandson, John, Jr., and his wife Jennifer Davenport of Atlanta, GA; and her granddaughter, Kathy and her husband Taylor White of Lakeway; her great-grandchildren Samuel and Natalie White of Lakeway, and Ellie and Reagan Davenport of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by one sister, Edith Allane Corcoran of Scottsdale, AZ. She married Harold in Kansas City, KS. After World War II, they settled in McAllen, TX, where they raised their family. After Harold's retirement, they lived in Santa Fe, NM, moving to Austin, in 2007. Anne and Harold travelled extensively, visiting Japan, China, South Africa, Indonesia, Europe, Egypt, Canada, and Mexico. Anne participated in the McAllen Opera Guild, various book clubs, the McAllen Library Board, Pan American Round Table, and Planned Parenthood of McAllen. She was a 50+ year member of PEO, and member of the First Presbyterian Church of McAllen, St. John's Methodist Church of Santa Fe, and most recently, Westlake Hills Methodist Church of Austin. She was a Girl Scout leader, VBS and Sunday School teacher, Hospice volunteer, an avid reader, a gourmet cook, excellent bridge player, and excelled in weaving, knitting, sewing, and needlepoint. Her greatest joy and pleasure, however, was her family. A Memorial Service to celebrate Anne's life will be held at St. John's Methodist Church in Santa Fe, on Jul. 31, 2009, followed by a private interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Austin or Hospice Santa Fe.
