Senior Master Sergeant, USAF Retired, Emile William Weeks left this earth to join his beloved wife of 63 years on October 20, 2018. We will sorely miss that sweet, flirtatious smile and those twinkling, mischievous eyes. Very soft spoken he was, but always heard.
Emile grew up in rural Southern Alabama and worked on a gladiola farm after 8th grade, as that is as high of schooling represented in his area. He enlisted in the Air Force at age 17, where he obtained his GED. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and nurturing his pecan crops; a love he shared with all who knew him.
Emile served in England, Germany, Canada and Japan. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and eventually retired in 1970 from the United States Air Force with 22 years of service. He then worked the next 20 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a proud veteran and supported the Armed Forces through continuous participation in his local Air Force Chapter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mona Weeks, his brother James Weeks, his sisters Eleanor Weatherwax and Myrtle Small and son-in-law, Bill Newman. Emile is survived by his children, Sherry Newman, Mark Weeks and wife, Sherry, Justin Weeks and wife, Kathleen, Monica Lane and husband, Jim and Amelia Scott and husband, Steve. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
We are proud to be his children and will continue to foster the positive work ethic, good morals and family values he taught us at an early age.
We would like to thank the staff of Hearthstone Rehab Center, Austin Geriatric Specialty and Texas Home Health Hospice for loving, caring for and showing respect to such a proud and wonderful man in his last days.
Visitation with the family will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at St. William Catholic Church at 620 Round Rock West, Round Rock, Texas, 78681. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Memorial Hill.
