Emma B. Rodriguez

Emma B. Rodriguez (Nana) passed away peacefully on June 1, 2010, after a brief illness. Emma was born April 27, 1926, in Sanderson, Texas, where she grew up. She married Manuel Rodriguez and they moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they spent most of their life before retiring to Rockport, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel Rodriguez; brother, Rudy Bustos and his wife Irma; one daughter, Edna Rodriguez Esparza and her husband Joe; three granddaughters, Emma Ruth Gonzales, Josie Aguilar and husband Alex, Alice Esparza; along with two great-grandsons, Jadyn Aguilar, Jordyn Aguilar; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Emma is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was very active in the church. She volunteered at a local thrift store to benefit the church and sang in a gospel band where they visited nursing homes and sang to the residents. She had a very generous heart and always ready to help anyone and everyone in need. She will be greatly missed by those who knew & loved her.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 3rd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home 2620 S. Congress Ave., Austin, Texas. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 4th at 2:00 pm at Faith United Methodist Church, 2701 S. Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas, 78704 with Rev. Sheree Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
