Enedina Sanchez Costilla

Our beloved Enedina “Nina” Sanchez Costilla age 86, was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, February 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert “Pimpe” Costilla, Sr., 3 babies at birth, parents Seledonio Sanchez and Juanita Zuniga Sanchez, and her siblings, Joe Sanchez, Pedro Gonzales and Estella Gonzales.

Enedina is survived by her children, Patricia Ann Maldonado, Albert Costilla, Jr. (Jessica) and Eddie Costilla (Nicole), grandchildren Kelly Ramirez (Ben), Lisa Ramirez (Santos), Arthur Ramirez, Jr. (Anna Marie), Albert S. Costilla, Angel G. Costilla (Sara), and 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brother Andres Zuniga, and other loving family and friends.

Enedina was a very hard working individual. With only a sixth-grade education she accomplished a lot in her lifetime. As a child, she worked in the cotton fields with her family. Later she worked at Economy Furniture and Tracor for many years in Austin, TX. She, along with her husband, were business owners (La Perla Bar). She always provided not only for her own family, but for all around her. Many of her children’s friends and customers of La Perla referred to her as “Mom”. She always had a special way with people. There was not a place she would go that she would not make a new friend. She enjoyed going on trips with her family, friends and church community.

We would like to thank her Primary Care Physician Dr. Craig T. Berent and Cardiologist Dr. Eric S. Tiblier for being there for her. She always spoke very highly of them. Also, we would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at St. David’s Hospital for their love and caring patience they gave her these final weeks of her life.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Ramirez, Jr., Albert S. Costilla, Angel G. Costilla, Damian A. Ramirez, Ben Astran and Michael Contreras. Honorary Pallbearer will be Sebastian Astran.

A visitation for Enedina will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Nuestra Senora de los Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin, Texas 78741. A rosary service will follow from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin, Texas 78741 with a graveside service following at 1:30 PM at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
