Dear Family Members:
My name is Maylene Bird. Erin volunteered in my classroom at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. I want you to know what a delight Erin was to have in my math classroom. She was wonderful with students- patient, kind, and understanding. She truly cared about the work she did with the kids. She contacted me three weeks ago to discuss returning to the school, and I told her how much I looked forward to seeing her. She truly was a gift to all who knew her and will be missed. On behalf of the school and myself, I send you condolences.
