Ernest Resendez Ledesma

Ernest was a devoted husband for 54 years to Virginia who was called home on June 22, 2012. Our father was a loving, hard worker who ran a drywall business for over 30 years. He was a strong and loving father who would have done anything for his friends and family. Our father loved and lived life strong, he enjoyed working from sunup to sundown then gathering with friends and family barbecuing, hunting and fishing at the coast. Our father taught us everything, from tape and floating, fixing a car, to fixing the plumbing.

There was nothing our father couldn’t fix or build. We are truly blessed to have had a shining example of what a father, husband, brother, and a man should be.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ledesma; parents, Isabel and Alex Ledesma, Sr.; and brothers, Alex Ledesma, Jr. and Tony Ledesma.

He is survived by his sister, Angie and husband Joe Lopez, sister Lenora Lofton; children, David Ledesma, Lisa Ann Young (Chris), Melinda Ledesma, Ernest Ledesma, Jr. (fiancée, Irene Hernandez), Steve Ledesma (Rosemary); grandchildren, Melissa Martinez and husband, Steve, Christine Kilcrease, Jonathan Ledesma, Jon Paul Ledesma and wife, Theresa, Ernest Ledesma III and wife, Mary Sol, Anthony Elizondo, Jennifer Elizondo, Stephanie Ledesma, Aaron Ledesma, and Noah Young; and great-grandchildren, Adam, Xavier, Nevaeh, Jude, Sarah, Ryan, Aylissa, and Matthew.

The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 300 N. Blanco Street in Lockhart, Texas. Interment will follow at Lockhart City Cemetery.

Honoring Mr. Ledesma as pallbearers will be Chris Young, Noah Young, Ernest Ledesma III, Jon Paul Ledesma, Adam Ledesma, Anthony Elizondo, Jonathan Ledesma, Xavier Ledesma, and Ryan Ledesma.
