Evelyn Cary Willman Welborn, of Austin, born March 31, 1927 in Brownsville, Texas to William and Evelyn Willman passed away May 11, 2009. Evelyn grew up in Brownsville and graduated as valedictorian of Brownsville High School in 1944. She received her Bachelor and Master's degrees in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Evelyn was a research scientist formerly employed by the University of Texas Military Physics Research Lab and Applied Research Lab. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, North Lamar. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Church of the Resurrection, 2200 Justin Lane, with burial following at 12:00 p.m. at the Allen McNeil Cemetery. Evelyn is survived by her three daughters - Frances Goodwin, Beverly MacCarty and Debbie Welborn Sprouse and sons-in-law, James Goodwin, Brian MacCarty, and Delvin Sprouse; grandchildren - Jesse Goodwin and Will Goodwin; brothers - Bill Willman, Joe Willman and wife Mary Margaret Willman, and cousin - Olivia Lee Randolph. Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Goodwin, Will Goodwin, Brian MacCarty, Delvin Sprouse, Stan Willman, and Mark Willman.
