

My father Pete was an extroverted person who had a big sense of humor, was sincerely helpful, enjoyed watching sports on the television, liked gospel and country music, and had a very personal and spiritual relationship regarding his religious beliefs. We all love you Pop.
Everett Jay Cutting (Pete) of Austin, TX passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022, after several months of declining health. He was 87 years old.
Pete was born in Masonville, New York on December 25, 1934, to father Leland Cutting and mother Annabelle Carley. One of eight children, Pete worked at various odd jobs he could find starting at an early age. His work ethic and desire to be independent led to him enlisting first in the Marine Corps and then the Air Force and retiring from the military after more than twenty years.
After military retirement, Pete owned and operated a landscaping business for 25 years, and also retired from this field. He was a member of the 26K Council 1017, Knights of Columbus, and attained the Grand Knight rank. He was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, in Austin, TX and attended services there until his health and physical limitations prevented him from participating in any of the church services.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, his wife Mary Cutting, and son Everett Jay. He is survived by children Pamela, Bennie, Sylvia, Mario, Julia, Aaron, Angela, and their respective spouses. He has 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Pete is planned for Monday, February 14, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The visitation will be at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on 2620 South Congress Ave., Austin, TX 78704. The funeral will be on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with final resting place at Assumption Cemetery on 3650 South I-35 Frontage Road, Austin, TX, 78704.
