

Flora Louise Robinson Sis King Flora Louise Robinson Sis King passed away Saturday, August 30, 2003. Flora Louise was born April 25, 1911 in Austin, the third child of Florence and Alfred Robinson, at 404 West 7th in the Bremond Block. Her two older brothers, Al and George, fondly called her Sis. She was a great sportswoman. Her love of competitive sports included baseball, tennis and golf. She helped form the Womens Golf Association in Austin. Hunting was a lifelong passion, she was an excellent shot. Many of her nieces and nephews learned to hunt well under her tutelage. Sis met Dr. William King on the golf course, later married him, and moved to their ranch in Buda on Onion Creek, where she raised wild turkey, goats, cattle and anything else that crossed her path. She was a devoted catholic, lifelong member of St. Marys Cathedral and was a participant in the Ladies of Charity. The chapel at Seton Northwest was donated by Sis and Bill and Sis brothers. Sis attended St. Marys College, Notre Dame, IN and graduated from The University of Texas in journalism. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She then went to work for family owned Austin White Lime Company where she was a partner. Her love of poetry continued throughout her life. Sis was dearly loved and respected by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Dr. William King and a very large family. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 1st at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 600 Loop 4 North in Buda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Austin. Following the services, a reception will be held at the home of Patricia Robinson Tyler, 3404 Timberwood Circle. Pallbearers will be, Joe Bitter, Spike Robinson, Oscar Robinson, James Robinson, John Tyler, Chuck Fleming and Sam Harper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joscar Robinson, Jody Robinson, George Robinson, Jake Cosper, Patrick Fleming, Brad Robinson, Alfred Robinson, Chase Kuper, Hunter Carothers, Ben Allen and Tobin Allen. Memorial donations in Sis honor may be made to St. Marys Cathedral, Santa Cruz Catholic Church, The Athletic Department of The University of Texas, Harvey Penick Scholarship for Women, P. O.
