

Frank Herman Buzz, Jr., age 77, passed away on February 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer resulting from exposure to Agent Orange during his military service in Vietnam.
Frank was born on November 25, 1948, and spent more than 50 years as a highly skilled auto mechanic, known for his ability to fix anything with wheels. Over the last 25 years of his career, he worked in Austin, Texas as an ASE-certified technician and shop foreman with Lief Johnson Ford and Covert Ford, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike for his expertise, work ethic, and integrity.
In 1967–1970, Frank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He became a disabled veteran following his first Agent Orange–related cancer diagnosis in 2012. After surviving that cancer, Frank embraced the next decade with gratitude and purpose, creating cherished memories with family and friends and traveling extensively with his beloved wife, Kristie.
Frank was a man who valued integrity, social justice, and helping others. He was a loyal and generous friend, a loving father and brother, and a devoted husband. His strength, kindness, competence and unwavering commitment to his family left a lasting legacy in the lives of all those he touched.
Frank is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kristie Loescher; his son, Frank Buzz (Gail); his daughters, Amy DeSantiago (Ruben) and Claire Loescher; his grandchildren, Stefan, Jayven, and Shelby; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Sheron; and his brothers, Leonard (Helen), Mark (Deb), Kenny (Uta), and Chris (Jessie); as well as six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jeanne Buzz, his brother Randy, and his sister Cindy.
A funeral service and reception will be held on Saturday, February 14 at 11:00 am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 209 W. 27th St., Austin, Texas.
Frank and his family will be forever grateful for the care of Dr. Paul Corn (MD Anderson), Dr. Merrill Kies (MD Anderson), Austin Regional Clinic, and Hospice Austin.
