
Frank Milton James, age 80, passed away on June 30, 2006 in Bastrop, Texas. He was born in Fullerton, Louisiana on January 4, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank M. James and Martha L. Cain and his sister-in-law, Evelyn L. James. Frank joined the Army Air Corps during WWII and served in the European Theater, flying 35 missions as a tail gunner on a B-17. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. where he was employed for 43 years, 5 months and 8 days. Frank enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Laura B. James of Bastrop, TX; daughter, Anne Mercer and husband John of Edna, TX; son, Tilt James and wife Patty of Aztec, NM; and a brother, J. D. James of Woodville, TX. He is also survived by one grandson, Dale Mercer and wife Lea of Palestine, TX, six granddaughters, Joanna Smith and husband Matt of San Antonio, TX, Heather Blythe and husband Kendall of Amarillo, TX, Holly Sanchez and husband Christian of Las Cruces, NM, Kimberly Mercer of San Antonio, TX, Caren Akins and husband Matthew of Houston, TX, and Haely James of Aztec, NM; six great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Blythe, Lance Mercer, Nathan Blythe, Rayanne Mercer, Joshua Blythe and Madison James; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr., in Austin with Tilt James and John Mercer presiding.
