Frederick “Freddy” Allen Davee, beloved husband, wonderful father and grandfather, one-of-a-kind brick mason, skilled fisherman, and beloved friend passed away on Friday, March 18th, 2022 with family by his side at St. David’s North Hospital in Austin, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jerry Funderburgh Sr.; his mother and father, Wanda Maulsby and Leslie Allen Davee; his brother Wayne Davee; and his sisters Elsie Judd and Barbara Seal. One of his final wishes was to be with his dearly loved family and friends in Heaven, and to be in the eternal glorious presence his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Freddy leaves his wife Betty Davee; brother Donald Davee; son Frederick Davee Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Delana and Shane Westbrook; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Zachary London; step-daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Jill Jane; daughter-in-law Michele Funderburgh; and his step-son and daughter-in-law Mike and Robin Spencer. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. Freddy had many names, but the one name he loved to be called most of all was “Pawpaw” by his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved more than words can express.
Freddy was one of the most dedicated, hardest workers you could ever meet. He worked for many years as an outstanding brick mason, and hand-constructed some of the most beautifully sculpted homes, fireplaces, arbors, walkways, and patios you can imagine. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, camping, being outdoors, and had an amazingly caring heart for others. Without question, Freddy loved being a Dad and a Grandpa most of all. Freddy was always there to help family, friends, and neighbors with projects or whatever else they needed him for; Freddy was the very definition of a good man.
Freddy had an unwavering faith in God and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. Although his Earthly body is no longer with us, we know that his precious memory will live on through the seeds of love he so carefully planted in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Psalms 23:6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 26th from 11:30am-12:30pm and a Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at 12:30pm.
