

Geneva Eads Brown, 71, of Austin, died May 25, 2004. She was born in Uvalde, Texas on August 28, 1932, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ray A. Eads. She was a graduate of Uvalde High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the U.T. School of Nursing in Galveston in 1954. She married Dr. G. Wootten Brown in Uvalde, Texas. After they moved to Austin in 1961, she was active in the community and church. Her affiliations included the U.T. School of Nursing Alumnae Association, ZTA Alumnae and the Travis County Medical Alliance. She was a past member of the Symphony League and the Women of St. Georges Episcopal Church, where she sponsored the youth group for several years. A devoted wife and mother, she spent many years supporting her childrens activities; attending athletic events and other activities. An avid hunter and fisherman, she enjoyed spending time at the lake or in the country, especially in the company of her grandchildren. She and her husband also traveled extensively in Europe, Africa and Central and South America. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Wooten Brown; and her five children: Dr. Jimmy Brown, Charles E. Brown and Nancy Johnson, all of Austin; Larry Brown of Lone Tree, Colorado and Sally Box, of Carrollton, Texas. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and her sister, Mrs. John Shudde of Uvalde, Texas. . Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish on Thursday, May 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish on Friday, May 28 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
