

Geneva Retzlaff Tonahill Geneva Retzlaff Tonahill, 92, went to be with her Lord on March 1, 2004. Geneva (Gran) was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her strength and faith in God were a source of inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her. Geneva was born in Lexington, TX on July 3, 1911. She was the daughter of Otto and Mary Retzlaff. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ruben, Owen Jay, and Willie Frank Retzlaff. Also preceding her in death was her son Jay Tonahill. Geneva lived her entire life in Texas. She was valedictorian of her college class; made many friends in bible study, playing bridge, sewing and doing for others. She was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in Austin after moving to Austin from Waco in 1969. Geneva is survived by her daughter Kathryn Tonahill Rogers; daughter-in-law Carolyn Tonahill; granddaughters Kim Murray and husband Dave of Austin, Karon Shouse and husband Ken of San Antonio, Angela Godby and husband Carlos of Alexandria, VA, Traci Tonahill and Richard Allen of Baton Rouge, LA; great-grandchildren Caroline Murray, Margaret Murray, Corbin Shouse, Kathryn Shouse, Adele Geneva Godby, Lauren Allen and Nicholas Allen; brother, Weldon Richard Retzlaff and wife, Pat; and sister-in-law, Eloise Retzlaff. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Renaissance Assisted Living facility. Special thanks to Juliette Adan for her kind care. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 3rd from 6pm-7pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services to celebrate Genevas life will be held at 10am Thursday, March 4, 2004, at First United Methodist Church at 1201 Lavaca Street, Austin, TX, with Reverend John McMullen officiating. Graveside services will follow in Waco, TX at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Genevas honor to First United Methodist Church or Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types, 650 N.
