

George William (Bill) Moore, Jr., age 65, of Austin, passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2007. He was born on August 17, 1941, to George William and Mary Elizabeth Moore, in El Paso, TX. Growing up in El Paso, Bill was active in many sports and eventually played football at the University of Denver, until an injury ended his football career. He then graduated from University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. He married Carolyn Dunn, also of El Paso, in 1961. Bill worked in sales and marketing in the insurance industry, eventually moving to Austin in 1972. He spent many years with National Western Life Insurance before starting his own company, Hallmark Administration. His career allowed him to travel extensively and he was recognized with numerous company and industry awards for outstanding performance. Bill enjoyed sports of all kinds, including tennis, boating, hunting, and all Longhorn sports. In later years, Bill enjoyed semi-retirement, time spent with his grandchildren, and devotion to his faith and the community at Covenant Presbyterian. Recently, Bill faced several challenges and adversities and met them with strength, courage, and unwavering faith. Survivors include his father George W. Moore, Sr., of El Paso; his wife of 45 years, Carolyn, of Austin; daughter Vicki and husband Kent Dinkel, grandsons Grant and Jackson, of Boulder, CO; daughter Cindy and husband Andy Sullivan, granddaughter Abby, of Round Rock; son George William Moore (Billy), III, of Austin; sisters Kathy Cornell, of El Paso and Nancy and husband Jeff Brandon, of Palm Coast, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. His beloved mother, his brother and best friend, Jim Moore, and his nephew, Ricky, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23rd at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3003 Northland Dr., on Tuesday, July 24, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Building Beyond Boundaries, c/o Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3003 Northland Dr., Austin, TX, 78757, or to a charity of the donors choice.
