George’s journey began on May 4, 1960, born to the late Samuel and Manuela Ybarra in Austin, Texas. Naturally, he had a love for the Longhorns, Cowboys, BBQ, baseball, and fishing—all passions he shared with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Affectionately known to many as “Big G,” he had a larger-than-life personality and genuine will to care for others. People from all walks of life were drawn to George and he welcomed all with open arms, never missing an opportunity to spread joy. He enjoyed opening his home to friends and family, as he lived for feeding and entertaining his loved ones. Though he was a well-known and respected member of the community, he and his wife, Becky, were happiest spending time with their greatest blessings: their five beloved grandchildren.
The “Big G Strong” spirit will live on through all who knew and loved him.
George is survived by his loving wife Becky Ybarra, with whom he shared 38 beautiful years; son and daughter-in-law George and Yuliana Ybarra Jr.; daughter and son-in-law Roxanne and Julian Martinez; grandchildren Juju, Leah, Jacob, George III, and Jett; brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel Ybarra and Manuela Torres.
The family is grateful to all who offered prayer and support during the most difficult of times, with special thanks to Dell Seton nurses Kelsey, Mai, Faith, and Daniella.
