Georgia Lavonne was born August 2nd 1934 in Olustee, Oklahoma to George James Holley & Lela Pearl West Holley. From an early age Lavonne decided that her path way through life would best be determined if lead by the divine guidance and direction of her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Very steadfast in her faith she attended International Bible College beginning in her early teens and made many friends some of whom she still remained in contact with until her passing. Soon after Bible College Lavonne married Patrick Lowell McManus on August 22, 1952 and through their union were born daughter, Patricia, son, Patrick and twin girls, Cherie Kim & Cherry Kay. Lavonne was also a loving Mother to stepdaughters Michelle & Roxanne and held their Father Dave in high regard throughout the remainder of her blessed life.
Lavonne was called many names during her long enchanted life and all were nothing less than beautiful expressions of love, affection & ultimate respect for these lovely, powerful women of God. Lavonne, Vonnie, Mama, Mom, Mommy, Nana were just a few. Lavonne was also known to many of her church family throughout the years as a "prayer warrior". Many complex and difficult situations would be made aware to her and no matter what they were Lavonne would be compelled to pray for them often traveling to the families and situations to pray. Her enduring powerful faith was an incredible testament and example to many and she seemed to have a direct link to the throne. When Lavonne started praying mountains began to move and things started happening. Illnesses were cured, babies were born, babies were healed, people were married, people came to the lord, and people were moved and changed beyond comprehension when she began calling his holy name. Some of these situations seemed hopeless but no situation was every beyond her reach through prayer.
Anyone who has ever been around Lavonne even for a little while has had the divine pleasure to experience her wonderful cooking. She so loved to cook for her family and loved even more cooking for many many others in their time of celebration or in their time of need. She radiated so much joy in doing for others.
Lavonne was a champion among women & saints and impacted so many lives through her prayer and assistance, monetary, physical & otherwise. She is known as Nana to many that were not in the number of her many grandchildren. She embraced so many and adopted so many as her own in her huge loving heart. She will forever be revered and forever will be missed daily by all who ever knew her.
Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents, beloved younger brothers James & Jack.
