

Georgia Ann Moss was born July 12, 1934, in Austin, Texas to Albert Fresh Sr. and Elvie Bunton Fresh. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the age of eighty-nine.
Georgia confessed faith in Christ as a child and has been a faithful member of St. Stephens Baptist Church in Austin, Texas for 60 years.
She was a licensed beautician, an aide for AISD, and later for the State of Texas retiring from the Austin State School/Texas Department of Mental Health and Retardation. Georgia enjoyed working for the State and made lifelong friends during her time there.
In 1961 she met and later married Charlie Moss Jr., thereby creating a family of eight children – Elveta, Jewel (B.B.) and Virgil gained older siblings in Mable, Oscar, Ernest, Fannie, and Ann. She was married to Charlie until his passing on November 9, 1986.
In addition to being a daughter, sister, and wife, she was also a very proud and beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
To many she was known as Ms. Moss or Ms. Georgia, but to her family she was our Gmaw, a strong, loving, determined, and fiercely independent woman.
She leaves behind four of her eight children.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Charlie Moss Jr. children Ernest Lee Moss, Oscar Lee Moss, daughters Bertha Ann Moss Williams and Fannie Mae Johnson. granddaughter Jacquelyn Robinson-Murray, and Bessie Grant, a dear cousin who was like a sister.
She leaves behind to celebrate her life, four children: daughter, Mable Robinson-White of Duncanville, Texas, daughter, Elveta (Eugene) Wright of Manor, Texas, daughter, Jewel Walker of Austin, Texas, son, Virgil (Jacklin) Hardeman of Killeen, TX; a daughter-in-law: Juanita (Oscar) Moss of Copperas Cove, Texas; a son-in-law: William (Fannie) Johnson, of Austine, Texas.
Georgia dearly loved each of her 22 grandchildren and was “Gmaw” to: Alisa Simmons, Jacquelyn Murray (deceased), Candace (Leroy) Shye, Janice Christophe, Lisa (Dennis) Karambalas, Paris (Cathy) Higgins, Chrishun Brown, Robert (Kerrie) Walker, Jr., Gail (Levar) Manuel, Brian Williams, Marlin Moss, Michael Moss, Camesha Adams, Monica (Randy) Moss, Aursha (Charles) Waldon, Jenelle Johnson, Anita (Larry) Simmons, Tonya Hardeman, Dallas Hardeman, Virgil Hardeman, Jr., Virginia Hardeman, Emanuel Johnson; as well as a host of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Georgia will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at St Stephen's Baptist Church, 3107 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 3304 East 12th Street, Austin, TX 78721. A visitation will occur Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Stephens Baptist Church, 3107 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723.
