

Gladys Kouba, 79, of Austin, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 13, 2010, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born October 16, 1930 in Praha, Texas to Fred and Lillie (Migl) Brosch. She dedicated her life to being a loving wife to her husband, Erwin, mother to three daughters, and grandmother of five grandchildren. Gladys proudly celebrated her 59th wedding anniversary with Erwin in July. She was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin, Balcones Country Club Women’s Association, and a member of the KJZT Society.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents and her oldest daughter, Carlene Kouba Behrens. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Erwin Kouba; daughter, Gwen Kouba Johnson and her husband, Randy of Austin; daughter, Tammy Kouba Kowalczyk and her husband, John of North Carolina; son-in-law, Greg Behrens and wife, Lori of Austin; along with grandchildren, Robert and Janet Behrens, Amy and Megan Johnson, and Zachary Kowalczyk. She is also survived by two brothers, Jimmy Brosch and wife, Lucy of Houston, and Eugene Brosch of Flatonia, Texas; and numerous members of her extended family and many friends who will miss her dearly.
There will be a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Vigil and Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home on Anderson Mill Road. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 RR 620 North, Austin. Committal services will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
