Graylyn Bernard VanHoy (Baker) age 27, passed away on September 25, 2018 in Austin, TX. Graylyn was born on August 16, 1991 in Austin, TX to parents Elizabeth Delgado VanHoy Baker and Kim Graylyn VanHoy.
He graduated from Westwood High in 2009. He attended ITT Institute studying network systems. Recently he has been working part time and going to school at Austin Career Institute and just received his certification for HVAC repair and hoped to someday have his own business.
He was a loving and compassionate father, brother and son. He enjoyed golf, cooking and hoped at one time to be a chef. He was a Christian, and attended LifeAustin Church and also PromiseLand church. His family and friends will always remember him as a gentle spirit, friendly and always willing to help others in need. He was a quiet person that felt things very deeply. Family was very important to him and he had hoped to have a family of his own to raise his boys.
He is preceded in death by his father Kim VanHoy, of Austin; his Grandmother Carolyn VanHoy, of Mayodan, NC and Grandmother Guadalupe Delgado, of Austin.
He is survived by his two sons, Chase Elijah VanHoy (3) and Michael Brandon Carter (9); His mother Elizabeth Delgado Baker and step father Steven Kent Baker, of Austin; His brothers John Aaron Tello, and Gabriel Tello of Austin; His Grandfather, Bernard (Bill) VanHoy of Mayodan, NC and aunts, uncles and many cousins in the Austin area.
A funeral is scheduled for September 29, 2018 on Saturday, at 2:00pm, preceded by a viewing from 12:00-2:00 and followed by a reception at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 N Lamar, Austin, TX. RT Philips from LifeAustin church will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Graylyn’s life.
