

Greg Gamble, a man of adventure, intellect, and unwavering devotion to family, passed away on May 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who knew him. Born on July 5, 1966, Greg was the beloved son of Roland and Lois Gamble and a cherished brother to Rhonda Henderson, Julie Baselice, and Mona Gamble.
Greg's journey through life was marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a passion for exploration. He was a graduate of Hyde Park Baptist High School, where his love for Spanish and basketball flourished. Continuing his academic pursuits at the University of Texas, Greg graduated with high honors obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He also served as the president of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
Armed with his CPA designation, Greg embarked on a career beginning at Price Waterhouse which took him to Russia and Alaska. Later, he worked for SFX Entertainment and Clear Channel Entertainment in New York where he showcased his strategic acumen and leadership abilities, which culminated in his role as COO of the Theatrical Division.
Greg's life took a transformative turn following the events of 9/11, prompting him to prioritize the joys of life and family. Returning to his hometown of Austin, Greg embraced a nomadic lifestyle, traversing the globe from Asia to Africa, Europe, South America, and Antarctica, capturing the beauty of the world through his camera lens.
Once settled back in Austin, Greg started a new career as Senior Vice President with Baselice & Associates. In addition, Greg recently found fulfillment in caring for his parents, embodying the selflessness and compassion that defined his character. His resilience, kindness, and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Greg's love for travel and photography was symbolic of his adventurous spirit, and in his memory, donations can be made to the National Geographic Society to continue his legacy of exploration and discovery.
His indomitable spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may have embarked on his final journey, his memory will forever shine bright in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A visitation to honor Greg's life will be held at Cook Walden Funeral Home on North Lamar, on Sunday, May 19, from 5 to 7 p.m., providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their respects and share fond memories.
A memorial service celebrating Greg's remarkable life will take place on Monday, May 20, at 3 p.m. at Cook Walden Funeral Home. This gathering will be a time to reflect on Greg's enduring legacy and the profound impact he had on those around him.
