

Harold James Draper passed away peacefully at his residence on May 30, 2006. He was born on June 1, 1926 in Elmhurst, Illinois. He served in WWII with the US Army Air Force stationed in Germany. After serving his country, he moved his mother and father from Illinois to Texas. He worked for the LCRA to support them while earning a degree from the University of Texas at Austin on a GI Bill. He graduated in 1953 with a degree in Business. Upon graduation, Harold worked for Humble Oil Co; Mayflower Moving Co; and was an auditor for the State of Texas. He then began employment with the U.S. Treasury Dept until his retirement in 1985. He married Margaret Louise Kilgore in 1962 and was blessed with two daughters, Carolyn and Sharon. Harold spent his retirement years traveling with family and friends, enjoying his grandchildren, working outdoors and playing Rummi-Kub on Friday nights. He will be best remembered for his strong work ethic, sense of adventure, dedication to his family and friends, and love of birds. Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Draper and sister, Bernice Draper. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Carolyn Runyon and Sharon Draper; and grandchildren, Craig Runyon, Peyton Runyon, Katie Kelley and Tyler Kelley.
