Harold owned and operated two successful commercial painting companies in both Houston and Austin. In Houston he owned Southwest Painting and Decorating for over 30 years and then moved to Austin and opened Craco Painting and operated it for 18 years.
Harold is preceded in death by his father and granddaughter, Savannah Smith.
Harold is survived by sons, Harold D. Smith, Craig Smith and Stephen Smith and wife Dee; mother, Grace Wallace; grandchildren, Taylor, Tristen, Weston and Sarah Smith; sister, Katherine May and numerous other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin, TX 78749.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 RR 620, Austin, TX 78726 with Father Larry Stehling Celebrant.
