Henry Albert Dougherty, lovingly known as “Butch,” age 74, of Kingsland, Texas, went to be in the arms of his momma on October 8, 2025.
Butch was born on February 16, 1951, in Austin, Texas, to William Henry and Betty Jean Dougherty.
He spent much of his life working as a trucker and a junker, always known for his hard work and big heart. Butch married the love of his life, Mary, and even after their divorce, they maintained a strong bond and shared in raising their beloved daughter, Kristy.
A devoted father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and grandfather, Butch had a deep passion for fishing and was known by everyone as a huge jokester who could light up any room with laughter.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristy Moore of Bastrop, Texas; sisters Betty Teague, Donna Bolding, and Sadie Dougherty of Austin; brother Bobby Dougherty; numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Butch is preceded in death by his mother Betty, father William Henry, brothers Louie and Allen Ray, nephews William Jackson and Harold Lee Dougherty, great-nephew Anthony Jackson, former wife Mary McKinney, and granddaughter Marissa.
Butch’s love for his family, laughter, and fishing will forever be remembered and cherished by those who knew him best.
A graveside service will be held at Fiskville Cemetery, located at 1037 Fiskville Cemetery Rd, Austin, TX, 78753, United States. The service is scheduled for October 20, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm.
