At the age of 74. He was born June 13th, 1950 in Houston, Texas. But resided most of his adult life in Austin, Texas.
Howard graduated from Bellaire High School and also attended Texas A&M University & The
University of Texas. He always considered himself a UT LONGHORN and was a Loyal fan!
In 1973, when Howard was 23, he joined the Airforce where he wanted to become a pilot. Although he didn’t become a pilot, he got the 2nd best position instead…. Officers Club Manager. Through that role, he gained the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1976.
After serving in the Airforce, Howard worked for his parents at the Davis-Freeman Sign Company. He mastered the art of engraving in Houston. While living in Austin Howard worked for Austin Chemical doing their engraved signs until the sign company part of Austin Chemical changed to Austin Architectural Graphics. He worked for Tommy Dunn and AAG for many years until he decided to venture out on his own with his own small sign company. He also had his vending company “That Drink Company” with his business partner for many years George Polanco. Howard then moved onto doing deliveries and running phones for Courier Depot for many years until his passing.
Howard was always on the tennis court when he could be. He learned tennis from his father Sylvan and would play tennis with him as often as they could. Howard also played tennis everywhere he went! From everywhere he was based in the Airforce to playing tournaments in Texas. Howard played in tournaments with his father and his lifelong friend Gary Emanuel. He loved going to Caswell Tennis Center and playing every day at lunch with his friends or even a pickup game. His other passion was going out to Lake Travis with Gary, on his boat, and went skiing with many friends over the years.
Howard always appreciated and loved his family. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Rose Davis. His parents, Sylvan Davis and Maxine Freeman Davis. His Sister and Brother, Rhoda Davis Hart and Neil Alan Davis. His Uncle, David Goldstein. His Cousins, Archie and Betty Bry Lefton Lifshutz. And his Neice, Teresa Osborne.

More Cousins, David and Rochelle Lefton and their families. He is also survived by his longtime friend Gary Emanuel. And his chosen brothers, Tommy Delong, Donald Daum & Steve Durham.
Howard was one of the nicest people you could ever meet! Always seeming happy….a infectious smile and a laugh you couldn’t forget. He’s my favorite Uncle! He will be cremated and his wishes honored.
