Nécrologie de Ian R. Weightman
Ian R. Weightman, age 57, formerly of Yorkshire England passed away in Austin, TX surrounded by loved ones on June 17th, 2019. Ian is survived by his mother, Jean Weightman; sister Gill and brother-in-law Pete Jakob; brother Dave and sister-in-law Hiroko Weightman; nieces Catherine, Becca, Hannah, Aimi, and Lisa; and lastly his loving partner Erica Diaz. Ian is also survived by his many loyal friends and business partners. Ian is preceded in death by his father Robert Weightman and wife Gill Weightman. Ian was a respected member of the Austin community and figure head in the Austin Council of Entrepreneurs (ACEs). Ian was a visionary and champion of cultivating and mentoring talent. Under Ian’s guidance and direction many future leaders were created and will continue his legacy for years to come. Many of Ian’s closest friendships derived from work relationships, growing into a family that would last decades and stretch across multiple countries. The sport of Formula 1 was one of Ian’s most cherished passions. Like Ian, Formula 1 is rooted in innovation, technology, and a foundation of eloquent competitiveness. Ian loved to submerge himself in new cultures, cuisines, and regarded every opportunity as a new adventure. Ian’s brilliance amassed great success throughout his life, however, his professional success is not what defined him. Many of his friends, colleagues, and loved ones would describe him as loyal, compassionate, wickedly funny, but most of all humble. We will honor Ian as we take these next steps forward with the same excitement, zeal for life, and integrity he embodied. He will forever be in the hearts of the ones he loved and loved him. Viewing will be from 1:00 - 2:45 PM on Sunday, June 23rd and service will start at 3 PM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - 3125 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78705
